We had put some leftover shower wall paneling up for the back splash in the kitchen. I painted it with black paint and added some tile for detail. I painted the walls a pale yellow. I had some wainscoting just sitting around, so cut it up and put in on the face of my lower cupboards. I cut out the center of my upper cupboards and added some glass from some old windows I've collected. Of course I frosted them, since they were a little difficult to clean completely. This has completed my kitchen design and I love it.
The other day I was at DI...a place I try to frequent for their furniture and books. I found this little treasure, an old school desk. I thought it would be a great place for Kya to do her homework. She love drawing and writing, so what better way to encourage her than to get her her own seat.
With some sanding and spray paint...its as good as new.
This is a look that I have been admiring for quite some time and finally with a music book I bought for $1 at DI, I decided to go for it in my craft room. I love it!
Whenever I am at a store and walk by the pillow isle, I am always wanting to buy their cute pillows with fabulous textures. However, knowing that I have a ton of pillows lying around my house and never wanting to pay more than $5 on much of any decor...I decided to cut up some fabric I had on hand and make a textured pillow myelf. I think it turned out pretty cute.
Trying to solve a pet peeve problem of mine. Shoes, shoes, shoes and nowhere to keep them nice. My boots tend to always be on the floor stacked under all the rest of my families shoes getting dirty and scuffed up. An old cupboard I got at DI of course, painted white...added a shelf and a tension rod and I have my very own boot storage.
